The Harford County Contractors
Association, Inc. was organized almost forty years ago, by a group of Road
Builders who were interested in forming a support group. Over the years,
this organization had helped promote a better relationship with the county
agencies. The Association has grown from that original 10 to 12 members
to over seventy-five Contractors and Associate Members. The founding fathers
of the Association were: Charlie Kramer, Nace Jenkins, Harold (Bud) Master,
Raymond Stancill, Fred Thomas, Lewis (Reds) Corun, Winton Osbourne, and
Warren Benner.
We have special committees; The Legislative Committee, keeps
the organization abreast of happenings in Harford County as well as in
Annapolis. The DPW Committee works with the County on Water & Sewer
Construction. Our Scholarship Committee offers our members, and area high
school graduates the opportunity to apply for these awards.
The success of the Golf Tournament )which will celebrate its
12th year) determines how many scholarships are presented.
Our Christmas Project buys and delivers food to needy families
in Harford County. We have also made donations to help the Community Outreach
Centers, the Empty Stocking Fund, several Church Food Drives and Neighbors
in Need.
We have 5 or 6 General Membership Dinner Meetings throughout
the year. With a list of distinguished guest speakers.
Our Social Events include a Crab
Feast in July, a Bull Roast in the Fall, and our Christmas Party in December.
